Our day trip to Kilimanjaro National Park takes you to the Roof of Africa and the highest mountain in Africa as well as the world’s highest freestanding volcanic mountain that is well known for its summit to offer stunning views and become one of the remarkable African nature wonders with surprisingly superb to many adventure enthusiasts who have already visited on either short trip or trekking up to the summit (advised 5day – 9day trekking to summit). Day 1: Kilimanjaro - Kilimanjaro National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi and transferred to the Marangu Gate of the National Park (approx. 30-40 min drive). For the day trip you will actually trek on the spot for the first day of the total climb- through the lush rainforest ecosystem.
From the Marangu gate, accompanied by our professional mountain guide, you will hike to the Mandara Huts, at an altitude of 2700m. You will stop here for lunch and then take a short walk to view the Maundi crater, from where you can see the view of both the Mawenzi peak and Kibo peak (the summit). This hike, suitable for anyone of average fitness, takes approximately 3 hours each way.
While spending some time to experience fauna and flora found in the national park, including the Black and White colobus monkey and the Kilimanjaro passionflower, unique to the ecosystem of Kilimanjaro.Finally, you will the descend to Marangu and be transferred back to any agreed point in Moshi and that will end up your experience to the world free standing snow covered dormant volcano majestic of Kilimanjaro Mountain.
