Situated in the Southern Coast of Tanzania, a drive of about 6hrs from Dar es Salaam and falling in UNESCO Heritage Site under the historical category is the Kilwa Kisiwani aka Kilwa Kivinje old city.

The city was one of the most powerful in the East African Coast trading center, during the 12th to 15th Century. The city was one of the important trading centers linking the Asians with the Africans across the Indian Ocean where gold and ivory were exchanged between the two continents, whereby Africans sold the gold and ivory in exchange for cotton cloth, and jewelry.

With the local professional guide from Serengeti Wonders, you will enjoy the narration of the history throughout the Kilwa.
